According to a release this month by the White House, there are 441,000 Kansans who combine to owe nearly $11 billion in student loan debt. The average amount of debt for those thousands of Kansas residents is nearly $25,000.
These massive numbers point to a clear and evident truth. Managing student loan debt is at the heart of the challenge of reaching personal financial goals for thousands of people in our state. HCCI has worked hard to better understand the options and opportunities that people facing student loan debt should understand. During the month of March, we are centering our attention on the state and national student loan debt challenge with a special opportunity.
In March, HCCI will waive its counseling fee to conduct a session with people who desire to better understand their student loan debt and their payment options. Radio commercials promoting the opportunity have been broadcast. In addition, HCCI has participated in news media interviews about the issue, and the free counseling sessions.
If you know of someone who has student loans to repay, and could benefit from visiting with HCCI, urge them to contact us and take advantage of this opportunity.
